TECNAM Australia is pleased to announce the first flight today at Ardmore Airport in New Zealand of P2006T registered ZK TZY. Today's flight by TECNAM (NZ) LIMITED's Chief Pilot, Mary Patterson, was the culmination of an intensive three weeks of assembly, testing and NZ CAA first of Type Certification. This aircraft, the first of a number of TECNAM twins bound for customers in Australia and New Zealand, will be handed over to Izard Pacific Aviation of Taupo in this coming week.
 
Due in Port of Auckland on Monday 21st June is ZK TTW, the TECNAM demonstrator Twin for Australia and New Zealand. Assembly, testing and NZ CAA certification is expected to be completed by early July after which the Twin will commence demonstration flights within New Zealand. Dependant on winter weather across the Tasman, the demonstrator Twin will ferry via Norfolk and Lord Howe Islands to Brisbane with an Australian tour of capital cities, dealers and customers, commencing in the second week of August.
Full details of the Australian tour will be posted on this page mid July. Any Australian customers visiting New Zealand mid to late July should contact their State Dealer about the posibility of a demonstration flight from Ardmore Airport.
First P2006T Light Twin sold in Australia
Central Queensland cattleman Steven Swan is the launch customer in Australia for TECNAM's amazing new Light Twin. A long time TECNAM RG owner Steven has built up a healthy respect for the dependability of the Rotax 100 horse power engines used by TECNAM.
The order was placed following extensive due diligence by Steven which included a visit to Italy to fly the twin at MTOW in high temperatures.
Steven's P2006T will be configured for IFR certification by installing the Garmin 950 glass cockpit with synthetic vision, S-TEC autopilot, ST-360 Flight Director and KCS55A HSI Slaved Compass System.
